Exporting vector paths

Fireworks offers several new features to export vector paths for vector applications. For example, you can export vector paths to be opened in Macromedia FreeHand 8, Adobe Illustrator 7 or later, or Flash 3 or later. In addition, you can copy and paste a vector path into other vector programs.

When you export to FreeHand or Illustrator, the objects appearance of objects may differ, depending on whether a Fireworks feature is supported by FreeHand or Illustrator.

These features are not supported in FreeHand and Illustrator, and will not appear in the exported file:

Live Effects
Opacity and blending modes
Texture, pattern, Web Dither fills, and linear gradient fills (FreeHand)
Slice objects and image maps
Many text formatting options
Guides, grids, and canvas color
Bitmap images (FreeHand)

Also, object edges are set to hard, vertical text becomes horizontal, and right-to-left text is changed to left-to-right text.
